MYCP’s Climate Mobility Research Lead, Salsalina Larasati, spoke on behalf of MYCP on meaningful youth leadership in research on climate change, migration, and health at the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Launch webinar: Global research prioritization and action plan on health, migration and displacement in the context of climate change.
The session explored the links between climate change, migration and health, highlighting the need for climate-resilient health systems that respond to migrants’ needs. Discussions emphasised community-led adaptation, participatory and interdisciplinary research, stronger evidence, and translating research into policy and action, ensuring climate responses protect rights and do not leave migrants behind.
Salsalina’s speaking session highlighted MYCP’s advancements in fostering research skills and collaborating among young people on concerns related to climate change and migration, with healthcare among them, as evidenced by the 2025 Climate Mobilities Declaration, as well as the Asia-Pacific research brief related to the Global Compact for Migration (GCM).
