قبيل انعقاد المنتدى الدولي للهجرة، يجمع هذا التقرير البحثي الصادر عن منصة الهجرة للشباب والأطفال(MYCP) أدلةً حول سُبل تمكين أنظمة الحماية الاجتماعية من الاستجابة بشكل أفضل لاحتياجات الشباب من المهاجرين والنازحين، وذلك بما يتماشى مع الميثاق العالمي من أجل الهجرة الآمنة والمنظمة والنظامية.

Antes del Foro Internacional sobre Migración, este informe de investigación de La Plataforma de migración para jóvenes y niños (PMJN) reúne evidencia sobre cómo los sistemas de protección social pueden responder mejor a las necesidades de los jóvenes migrantes y desplazados, en consonancia con el Pacto Mundial para una Migración Segura, Ordenada y Regular (GCM).

Ahead of the International Migration Forum, this MYCP research report brings together evidence on how social protection systems can better respond to the needs of migrant and displaced young people in line with the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM). It builds on the recognition that social protection is a key policy tool to reduce inequalities, support access to basic services, and enable young people to navigate transitions in contexts shaped by displacement and exclusion. This report rejects traditional clustering and adopts a cross sectoral approach, reflecting the reality that migration intersects with multiple policy areas. It examines how structural drivers such as climate change and migration shape young people’s access to fundamental rights and services like education and healthcare.

Justice systems cannot claim universality if they exclude those whose lives cross borders. If CSW70 aims to strengthen access to justice for all, then structural barriers faced by migrant, refugee women and other marginalised individuals must be addressed explicitly. This requires legal reform, strengthened accountability, sustained investment in support services, and meaningful participation of migrant women and girls in policy development.

Youth leaders across South West Asia and North Africa (SWANA) are not only affected by migration, they are shaping its future. Through region-wide consultations with hundreds of young people experiencing forced migration, displacement, economic hardship, and systemic exclusion, six clear priorities emerged.

This Policy Brief, led by young people, is intended for policymakers, civil society actors, and international organizations working on migration governance in Latin America and the Caribbean. It presents six priority recommendations to advance a just, inclusive, and resilient migration system in the region, grounded in human rights and equity. These recommendations aim to respond to intersecting crises of conflict, economic instability, health disparities, and environmental change, while addressing the systemic inequalities that shape mobility across the region. They also align with the objectives outlined in the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), adopted in 2018.

Youth in Asia and the Pacific face complex migration challenges, including climate change, limited job opportunities, unequal healthcare, and protection risks. Despite this, they lead efforts for inclusive, resilient, rights-based migration systems. This brief, based on youth consultations, highlights trends, barriers, and opportunities, offering recommendations. It calls on governments, civil society, the private sector, UN agencies, and others to partner with youth to shape migration policies that reflect their needs and aspirations.

The Africa regional youth consultations, convened by the Migration Youth and Children Platform (MYCP) in the context of the Global Compact for Migration (GCM), brought together youth from across the continent to co-create forward-looking, actionable migration priorities. These consultations centered on the realities facing young Africans, and the following six youth-driven recommendations are the outcome of this participatory process.
